Michele Aboud has evolved and refined her photography resulting in an extensive and remarkable portfolio of work. Completely conversant with the rigorous pictorial demands of advertising, beauty and fashion, she built her commercial career in New York , Sydney and SE Asia with assignments for international airlines, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Her editorial work has been featured in every publication of note, including Vogue, Interview US, Harpers Bazaar Singapore, Rolling Stone, Oyster and Glamour US.

 

Her commercial achievements are balanced by a robust and beautiful personal practice in portraiture and recently in motion picture. Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Baz Lurhmann and Debbie Harry have sat for her.

 

Michele’s portraiture has been awarded the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize, National Portrait Gallery, London (2014) and the National Photographic Portrait Prize, National Portrait Gallery, Canberra (2017). Her work has featured in over 22 international exhibitions in Sydney, Toronto, London and New York. Her documentary, A Close Shave, has been recognised by twelve film festivals, including Berlin Short Film Festival, Woodstock FF & St Kilda Film Festival., and was a winner at the Vegas FF 2021. Her work is a rare and accomplished statement of emotional power in perfect balance with deep insight and confidence.
